data art for climate action gallery poster
Feb 25, 2022

AtmosActions is a collaboration between sound and visual artists and climate scientists. It is a real-time audiovisual installation which uses meteorological data collected from a weather station with instruments mounted to a 10-metre tower atop the PACCAR building at the Laboratory for Atmospheric Research (LAR) at Washington State University in WA, USA. The weather data is visualised and sonified in real-time. The aim is to build awareness of the impact of climate change in regions beyond our own, to help build empathy and encourage active engagement with the climate crisis.

The installation is exhibited at the Data Art for Climate Action conference 2022 in Hong Kong. More information is available on the exhibition website.
